Hi Geoff,
What great work! I have an Australian connection.
You appear to have drawn a blank on Benjamin William Sayer, born Rumburgh in 1834.
At the age of 22 he migrated to Melbourne, Australia in 1857 - maybe following the lead from his uncle samuel who you mentioned emigrated to Bogata - lived an interesting life before dying in 1877. His only son, William Samuel Sayer (born 1877), was my grand father, killed in action in 1918 after having served in the Boer war on two tours of duty.
Many Sayer decendants now populate this part of the world as well:) If you would like some details of these I could provide my limited details.

Best wishes.
